This image simulates the tension of a nightmare. The viewer's position vibrates between that of a victim and that of an onlooker. In one moment you're reaching out to a loved one in peril, and the next moment you realize it's you who's falling.
Inspiration for this piece came from the wood grain ceiling above my pillow. I was waking from a nightmare and looking up at the ceiling in distress only to see myself falling back on the parallel surface.
